Who AcBel is
AcBel Polytech (6282.TW) is a Taiwanese power-supply maker with more than forty years in the trade. The listed company is organised around three groups — power solutions, green-energy services, and electric powertrain — but power solutions are 95% of sales. The high-margin telecom line sits mainly in US subsidiary Omnion, the former ABB business.
Business mix
- Enterprise power — servers, data centers, and fuel cells. Management puts gross margin in this line at about 20% or better. This is also where it parks its AI-related products: data-center PSUs, CRPS server power supplies, and fuel cells.
- Telecom power — Omnion. Gross margin around 35%. Management does not classify this as AI.
- Consumer power — PCs and appliances, gross margin around 10%. The mix is being shrunk on purpose.
- New businesses — green energy, electric powertrain, and metal stamping. A small residual.
Where it sits in the NVIDIA 800 VDC stack
It does not, on the evidence of the FY2025 call. AcBel never mentioned 800V or HVDC. The AI print is conventional rack power — CRPS, data-center PSUs, and fuel cells.
Keep it as an adjacent PSU name with a rising enterprise mix. If the screen is NVIDIA 800 VDC disclosure, this is not a hit.
Strategy
The commercial plan is a mix shift: cut consumer, raise enterprise and telecom, and put the next capex cycle into Taiwan and Omnion against AI-related demand.
