Who Episil is
Episil Technologies (3707.TW) is a specialist power and analog semiconductor foundry. Management's competitive claim is that it is one of the few pure-play foundries globally with volume SiC production, and that an 8-inch build-out with Vanguard International would make it one of the even smaller set that can offer both 6-inch and 8-inch SiC/GaN foundry — the combination it thinks will attract large IDM customers it could not previously reach.
It is not on NVIDIA's published 800 VDC list. It is in this collection because it named 800V HVDC as a demand driver for the SiC and GaN wafers it runs.
The listed entity's consolidated accounts are larger than the foundry line alone. On the H1 2025 call, foundry was broken out separately from the group.

By process platform
- Compound power (SiC and GaN) — 41% of revenue, down from 49% a year earlier, still the strategic core. The drop was SiC, not GaN.
- TVS/ESD — 25%, up from 17%, on a consumer recovery.
- Automotive MOSFET — 19%, up from 14%.
- Fast-recovery diodes — 1%, shrinking as SiC diodes take the socket.
By end market
- Industrial 42% (still the largest).
- Consumer 30% (off the trough).
- Automotive 22%, down from 28% on weak end demand.
- Green energy 6%.
Existing 6-inch capacity is 5,000 SiC wafers per month and 2,000 GaN. An 8-inch pilot line of 1,500 wafers per month is being installed at Vanguard, with trial production aimed at the first half of 2026.
Where it sits in the NVIDIA 800 VDC stack
One layer below the names NVIDIA listed. The silicon partners on that list — Infineon, onsemi, Navitas, Innoscience and the rest — still need wafers. Episil's case is that it runs those wafers as a foundry.
The 800V argument, as management made it, is a demand thesis rather than a design win. AI server racks are expected to break 600 kW in 2027, the industry is moving to 800V HVDC, and that architecture pulls in SiC and GaN. Applications already named on the foundry line include data-center DC-to-DC converters, EV on-board chargers, solar, a push into EV main inverters, industrial equipment, and products above 3300 V.
What this is not: a named hyperscaler, a rack date, or 800V revenue. GaN is already growing on AI servers; SiC is not. Treat Episil as a capacity option on compound power, not as evidence it is on NVIDIA's bill of materials.
